About Jack

I'm Jack Ordman. I've lived in Dane County for about ten years: I came here for school at UW-Madison, and after a few years away I came back in 2022 because this is where I wanted to build my life. I grew up in Milwaukee. I work full-time as a software engineer, from home.

I live with Cecil, a beagle who spent the first part of his life inside Ridglan Farms. He's the reason this stopped being an abstract issue for me, and April 18th is the reason it became a campaign.

I'm not a politician. I'd never published so much as an opinion piece before this spring. I'm running because somebody has to, because the people inside the department who could challenge this Sheriff have every reason to stay silent, and because I believe an unopposed incumbent is how a county ends up with an April 18th.
